The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu has a new face

The Chevrolet Malibu is an unloved car. Considered trite, it never had great sales. So this facelift was more than expected, transforming it in a much more interesting product. The main changes happened in the front but the interior also got a new design, and in specific the center console.

The new front fascia is inspired by the one used by the all-new Impala has a larger lower grille and narrower a narrower upper grille. Inside, the seat have been redesigned to provide greater comfort, and room for the rear passenger knees. The center console now features a longer armrest also designed for greater comfort, a pair of cup holders and dedicated storage for two cell phones.

Chevrolet now offers a new Ecotec 2.5 liter petrol engine that produces 197PS (145kW or 194bhp) and 253Nm (186lb/ft) of torque. Also available is a 2.0 liter turbocharged unit with 262PS (193kW or 259bhp) and 400Nm (295lb/ft).

The North American company also made small changes to the cars chassis, suspension, brakes and steering, giving it a more precise, controlled feel.
