Peugeot officially reveals the 208 T16 Pikes Peak specs

The 208 T16 Pikes Peak, which will be driven by the nine-time world rally champion Sébastien Loeb, finally saw its specifications revealed by the French brand. Peugeot borrowed the also French driver from Citroen, and have one objective, win, but in the process i am sure they have made a lot of engineers really happy.

This is because the Unlimited category at the Pikes Peak event allows almost anything, this is the best place to, indeed, create the unlimited machine, made from a tubular steel chassis, carbon bodywork, carbon brake discs, 13 inch magnesium alloy wheels and a huge rear wing.

This all-wheel drive car has 875PS (863hp or 644kW) and weighs only 875kg (1929lbs), meaning it has one PS for every kilogram. All that power comes from a 3.2 liter V6 connected to a six-speed sequential gearbox.

If you thought those values were incredible, so what about the values of the acceleration? 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in just 1.8 seconds, 0 to 200km/h (124mph) in 4.8 seconds, and will reach the top speed of 240km/h (149mph) in an amazing seven seconds.

The 2013 Pikes Peak will take place on June 30, and Peugeot hopes to win it again, after the 1989 and 1988 wins. The 1988 win was even more special since it was immortalized in the short film, Climb Dance. That year the 405 T16 was driven by Ari Vatanen.
