Icona shows the Vulcano Supercar Concept at the Shanghai Motor Show

The China-based design company, that has roots in the area of Turin, Italy, introduced the Vulcano at the Shanghai Motor Show. This is a car that had an important contribution from Claudio Lombardi, which is the former powertrain technical director of Ferrari and also helped Lancia achieved several World Rally Championship wins.

Icona will offer two different versions, called H-Turismo and H-Competizione, and each one has its own hybrid powertrain. The front-mounted engine in the H-Turismo is a V12, helped by an electric motor, that together produce 950PS (937hp or 699kW). The rear wheels are driven by a single-clutch automated gearbox and, according to Icona, gives the car the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in just 2 seconds (!!).

The H-Competizione is fitted with a turbocharged V6 engine that moves the rear wheels and two electric motors powering the front wheels. That combination produces a power output of 870PS (858hp or 640kW) and gives the car a 0 to 100km/h (62mph) sprint time of 2.9 seconds. Both models have a 349km/h top speed (217mph).

Helping put all that power on the ground are 20 (front) and 21 inch (rear) wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires, and when you want to stop, the six-piston Brembo calipers and the ceramic discs will help you with that.
